Bamboo and feathers

As a small in-between knit I made Twinkle’s Feather Scarf from Novita Bambu yarn. Didn’t like the light pastel colours of this yarn and ended up to white.

I like the pattern, it manages to combine knitted scarf part and crocheted ends beautifully (I can’t say this from all patterns combining knitting and crocheting). Length of this scarf is just perfect. Material is soft and flowing. I used under 250 g of Bambu.

But I’m not specially fond of the knitted surface. Yarn is cable spinned and you can clearly see the cabled structure of shinier fiber (cotton?). When you take closer look, the cable forms netlike surface. Like I had made something out of diaper cotton… Cable structure also has mind of it’s own. That does not bother in this particular knit, knitted with large needles, but I guess that with standard gauge it will be hard to produce neat knit.

Guess I’m going to use this, though, and see how this fiber acts in use.

I’m slowly closing up the heel of my first Bayerische sock.

    The scarf is beautiful!
What happened with the white Twinkle shawl you started (picture on Flickr)?

    Thanks!
The shawl is under construction, first cable ready, fringes cut and knotted. I really need to return working with it. The bulky yarn is total space consumer on my yarn stash…

That shawl is fabulous. I want to make one- in white like yours. Not sure what kind of yarn to use. I have some Twinkle Soft Chunky but only 3 hanks. I am going to look for something else.
